Last day for Chris Davey!

Following 15 years as the Director of Rugby at Cardiff Met RFC Chris finishes today looking forward to a well earned retirement.

Chris joined the rugby club in 2002 and started with a bang, winning a number of titles including BUSA (Now BUCS) Champions, BUSA 7's Champions as well as getting promoted to WRU Division One. After this prolific start Cardiff Met reached numerous BUCS finals, won the WRU Division 1 East title and were  runners-up in the inaugarul WRU Championship. Several 7's titles were also won both home and abroad. During his time at the university Chris was also considered one of the most successful Age Grade International coaches for his unprecedented record with the Wales U21 side 5 Grand Slams in 9 seasons.

The legacy that Chris leaves behind is perhaps his biggest success - Cardiff Met stand as one of the UK's leading rugby institutions, they field 9 teams a week with playing opportunities for nearly 200 students. Students who leave the programme go on to all levels of the game: international, Olympic and professional. Others continue to play rugby alongside their working life based on their academic achievements while at university. Chris always placed an importance on 'good people' as the key element of the coaching environments he created.

On behalf of the players and staff who have been lucky enough to work with you, Chris, we thank you and wish you a happy and long retirement.
