Louis moves on to pastures new!

Louis Messer, the RFC's inaugural hub officer, leaves us today after many years' service, as player and coach. Louis joined Cardiff Met as a student in 2010, playing in two BUCS finals before leaving to join Plymouth Albion on a full-time contract. Unfortunately, injuries curtailed a promising playing career and he returned to his alma mater to read for a Master's in Sport Coaching in 2014. Louis took up a coaching role and for the past two years has lectured on the undergraduate programmes. He has been integral to the participation-side of the RFC. In 2016, Louis was appointed to the role of Cardiff Met & WRU hub officer. He has played a key role in helping to facilitate the nine teams that Cardiff Met put out on a weekly basis, has established links with local clubs for players and coaches, and has helped to develop a thriving UKCC/WRU coach education programme. He also established the RYA programme. The club would like to thank Louis for his contribution to the Club and to the University and we wish him every success in his new post.
